InBrief series comparing free-trade agreements
In collaboration with the Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA), International Lawyers and Economists Against Poverty (ILEAP) and London School of Economics (LSE), the ECDPM has developed the EU FTA InBrief series, which provides a synthesis of various chapters of the ten FTAs recently concluded by the European Union with developing countries, as well as other relevant trade agreements where appropriate. It is aimed at helping trade negotiators, policy-makers, officials and experts to gain technical insights into the evolution of EU trade agreements and the approaches adopted by the EU in negotiating these agreements.
The EU FTA InBriefs avoid taking any position with regard to the trade and trade-related provisions that are surveyed and should be of particular interest to actors involved with or interested in the current and forthcoming negotiations on trade agreements with the EU, such as the economic partnership agreements with ACP countries. A complementary and parallel series of InBriefs that focuses on EPAs provides insights into the main issues faced by ACP countries and discuss options for negotiations with the EU.
The InBriefs are available online at http://www.acp-eu-trade.org/, http://www.ecdpm.org/ and http://agritrade.cta.int/ |
