The Weekly Compass is ECDPM’s weekly e-newsletter sent to subscribers every Friday afternoon. It is a rich source of information for ACP and EU policy makers, analysts and activists from multilateral, regional, bilateral and local development organisations, ministries, associations, NGOs, the academia and the private sector.
The Weekly Compass provides an overview of the latest developments, behind-the-scenes analyses and a selection of recently published documents with a view to enhancing international relations in the areas of economic and trade, governance, development policy and international relations, and international development cooperation.
ECDPM monitors some 30 policy topics which it compiles into the daily updated ECDPM online information service and dedicated webpages about ACP-EU cooperation and the latest ECDPM activities (provided in whole or by thematic topic or programme on ECDPM’s Information Centre and thematic website pages). Readers can choose between the short Weekly Compass containing feature articles and highlights of key policy developments, a full-length Weekly Compass-Extended Version including all the information collected during the week, subscribe to topic-specific RSS feeds, or retrieve information from the Weekly Compass archive and “delicious” on-line database (a rapidly growing online archive, currently numbering over 12,000 news resources). With the convenient “Topics” feature, you can quickly scan your areas of interest in the Weekly Compass-Extended Version and on our website.
In addition to making our work more accessible, ECDPM aims to use this growing network of policy actors (numbering more than 7,000 e-alert subscribers, thousands of regular web visitors and RSS feed subscribers), to enhance international relations around key trade, development cooperation, and governance debates.
ECDPM is not trying to raise its profile for the sake of it, but to improve debates on these important issues. So, we encourage readers to send Melissa Julian, the Weekly Compass’ Editor, your comments and suggestions on how to do that via whatever form is easiest for you – e-mail, sms, facebook, twitter or a phone call. You can contact Melissa via e-mail at: mj@ecdpm.org or via telephone/sms on her mobile phone +32 (0)47 328 11 65 - Fax +32 (0)2 380 31 55. For more information, visit Melissa's Profile.
